The Ghazipur-Tarighat New line Project in Uttar Pradesh has been under progress, and 95% of the work has been completed, the Railways has informed.

A new 51 km broad gauge line from Mau to Tarighat, aiming to provide an alternative and convenient route between New Delhi and Howrah, has been under construction for the past few years.

The rail-cum-road bridge and the approach viaduct portions of the project have been completed, the railway ministry said in a tweet.

Construction of this line will provide a link to Allahabad-Patna double-line electrified section and also decongest the Allahabad-Mugalsarai-Patna route.

The project aims to provide alternative, shorter, convenient and better transport infrastructure to the area separated by Ganga to remove the transport difficulties.

The rail project to be completed soon is being done at an estimated cost of Rs 1,765.92 crore.
