Twitter's source code has allegedly been leaked, and the company suspects a former employee is responsible for the leak.
The source code for Twitter was leaked on GitHub. Segments of the code were available on GitHub "for at least several months," but were removed after the company filed a "copyright infringement complaint."
Twitter has also requested that the US District Court for the Northern District of California order GitHub to disclose the identify of the user, who has reportedly been identified as "FreeSpeechEnthusiast."
The pseudonym alludes to Twitter's current owner, Elon Musk, who describes himself as a "free speech absolutist."
It's uncertain whether hackers have already taken advantage of flaws revealed in the source code.
The newest leak will be a setback for the corporation, which is looking for new methods to increase revenue.
