The dietician said that Cruciferous vegetables like broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage, etc are packed with fibre that keeps constipation at bay
She added that these vegetables are rich in vitamin B6 which helps reduce water retention. They are also packed with calcium and potassium
Makhija said that pumpkin seeds help manage PMS symptoms as they are rich in magnesium that helps improve mood and lowers water retention
The nutritionist added that pumpkin seeds are also rich in zinc and omega-3 that help maintain a calmer period
She listed almonds as a good source of magnesium that help soothe menstrual cramps. She added that they also help improve sleep
The celeb dietician suggested boiling 2 glasses of water with 2 tbsp of Ajwain in it. She advised taking small sips of this drink throughout the day to help soothe menstrual pains
Makhija recommended soaking 1 tbsp of methi overnight in water and having it the next day to reduce chest soreness, and water retention during your periods
