By default, videos on Twitter play automatically regardless of whether you are connected to Wi-Fi or mobile data. However, you can change this behaviour from the settings.
Changing video autoplay may be useful for users who want to conserve mobile internet data. They can set autoplay to ‘never’ or ‘Wi-Fi only’ when using mobile internet. Here’s how to change this setting.
Launch the Twitter app, tap on the profile image icon at the top left.
Tap on ‘Settings & Support’ and select ‘Settings and privacy’.
Scroll down and tap on ‘Accessibility, display and languages’.
Next, select ‘Data usage’.
Scroll down, and under ‘Video’, tap on ‘Video autoplay’ and select the desired option.
Alternatively, you may tap on enable ‘High-quality video’ and select the desired option to enable or disable high-quality video playback when connected to a specific type of network.
Moreover, you can tap on ‘High-quality images’ and choose the desired option to enable or disable high-quality images from loading on a specific connection type.
