Sound! Euphonium Season 3 Announced + Release Date Confirmed and Key Visual Revealed

Sound! Euphonium Season 3 is greenlit with first look!

Musical animes coupled with a slice of life have recently grown in popularity.

One can witness a variety of representations of musical forms, be it solo or group, form an interesting backdrop to the main plot line.

One such series was privy to the Spring 2015 slate as the anime adaption of Ayano Takeda’s novel series Sound! Euphonium hit the small screens.

The story follows Kitauji High School Concert Band Club, which one time participated in national tournaments and was a championship-caliber school.

However, after the club s’ adviser changed, the band has not been the same and has failed to qualify for the tournament.

As the band currently stands, they will not be able to participate in the local festival, Sunfest, let alone compete at a national level.

The main protagonist, Kumiko, is a first-year high school student who is indecisive and awkward.

She absent-mindedly blurts her thoughts out loud and second-guesses her decisions, even those as banal as ice cream Flavors.

Kumiko would much rather blend in with the crowd than stick out, avoiding confrontation where possible and accepting whatever is put in front of her.

She plays the euphonium, and despite her desire for a fresh start, she gets dragged into the school’s band club by her new friends and is once again stuck playing the euphonium.

The band s’ fortunes change when a new advisor named Noru Taki is appointed, who gives them two choices, i.e., train hard for the nationals or relax and have fun.

Will the Kitauji High School Concert Band Club regain its former glory, and how will Kumiko s’ get along with new bandmates as she rediscovers her passion for the euphonium is the central plot of the show.
