SummerTime Render season 2 renewal looks unlikely!

Maybe there was someone hundreds of years ago who looked exactly like you, or there is even someone alive today that looks too similar for it to be a mere coincidence.In mythology finding your doppelganger was a frightening omen, seeing your doppelganger meant that sometime very soon, you are going to die.
So now imagine you just arrived at your old hometown years after leaving but unfortunately the reason you are there is to attend your old friend’s funeral.
As you talk to all of your old friends, you cannot help but feel that something is off with the way your friend died. It doesn’t quite add up to the way that some of the people around you are acting, and it’s very unsettling.
Fast forward, and all starts to make sense once you discover that your friend didn’t die in an accident but was murdered; Welcome to SummerTime Render.
SummerTime Render is a mystery thriller anime based on the manga writings of Yasuki Tanaka and adapted by OLM studios.
The plot takes place in the mind of a young Shinpei Ajiro, a high schooler who visits his hometown of a small island for the first time in two years after the death of his childhood crush Ushio Kofune.
During his visit back to the town, he unexpectedly comes across Ushio’s sister Mil. At first, Shinpei faces a very dear part of his life ending, but like all chapters of a book, he has to move on to the next part of the story.
Sadly, he can’t, as the more, he learns about the truth surrounding Ushio’s death, the stranger everything seems to become. So he takes it upon himself to look for an answer as he talks to countless people, visits various places, and begins formulating different theories about what happened.
Soon enough, he finds out that she was murdered, which raises several questions, such as why she was murdered and what killed her one question leads to a series of more unanswered questions.
SummerTime Render is a gripping tale of grief and dark twists overlying a gruesome suspense thriller that keeps the viewers guessing after each episode.
The anime has built a massive fanbase in a short time, and the demand for the second season is already rising. Will there be SummerTime Render season 2? Stick around to find out.

SummerTime Render season one premiered on 15th April 2022, and the anime is currently ongoing, with 23 of 25 episodes already aired.
As of writing, there is no update from Disney or OLM studios for the renewal of SummerTime Render season 2.
SummerTime Render was ranked #1 in the ninth week of the Spring 2022 Anime season. If we look at the series Ratingraph, the average rating is 8.8/10 and has remained steady throughout its run.
Most fans would have already hoped for a renewal after the overwhelming response and success of the first season. However, the show’s creators are yet to confirm and convey official information regarding Summertime Render Season 2 trailer or Summertime Render Season 2 release date.
Despite the positive ratings, the chances of SummerTime Render season 2 look highly improbable due to its complete adaption of the finished manga.
The source material for the anime is the SummerTime Render manga which consists of 139 chapters collected into 13 volumes. On average, each episode adapts 5.5 chapters which means, as mentioned previously, 23 episodes have been released, and as a result, roughly 132 chapters have been covered in the manga.
Considering the manga is already finished, the anime will end up adapting all the 139 chapters, SummerTime Render season 2 will likely not happen.
Fans of the show would be disappointed after hearing the renewal chances of SummerTime Render season 2. However, apart from the main series, there are other novelties that they could enjoy.
Following the ending of Chapter 139 of the manga series in February 2021, a live-action adaption of SummerTime Render was announced.
A Real escape game is also in the works, which would see the show take over an abandoned island in Wakayama. One hundred lucky participants will be allowed to enter the game and look for clues for the way out.
Additionally, a video game titled SummerTime Rendering: Another Horizon has also been announced by Mages in July 2022.
While the main series is complete, there is always a chance the anime makes a return through a movie or an OVA. A spin-off manga titled Summertime Render 2026: Mizen Jikobukken could be the source material for either of them.
The plot is set in the future after the main story, where Hizuru Minakata s’ niece Haine has enrolled in Tokyo University. They find an apartment to live in for a reasonable price but later find out it’s haunted.
Summertime Render manga was written and illustrated by Yasuki Tanaka, and it began serialization in Shonen Jump on 23rd October 2017. The manga was also available on the Manga Plus website and app.
The manga has been collected into 13 volumes, and on 2nd April 2021, the final issue of SummerTime Render Manga was released.
Before the anime release, Summertime Render manga sold over 1.5 million copies which increased to 1.7 million in June 2022.
SummerTime Render manga is rated 8.1/10 and ranked #528 with 29k members on MyAnimeList.
Summertime Render is directed by Ayumu Watanabe and scripted by Hiroshi Seko. Characters are designed by Miki Matsumoto, and music is composed by Keigo Hoashi.

SummerTime Render came out of nowhere and became a hit; fingers crossed that in the future, the series returns in some form or other.
