On 13th December 2022, the show’s official website announced that I Am In Love With Villainess light novel will receive an anime adaption.
Following the announcement, the I Am In Love With Villainess Season 1 trailer and key visuals were also revealed.
While an exact I Am In Love With Villainess release date isn’t confirmed by the creators Platinum Vision, the television anime adaptation will premiere in 2023.
Before official confirmation, many leaks and rumours were going around regarding the production of the I Am In Love With Villainess anime.
On November 5th, 2022, popular anime news leaker @SugoiLITE put out a post on Twitter announcing an I’m in Love with the Villainess anime adaptation for the series but did not reveal their source.
A few hours after that, popular manga news leaker @MangaMoguraRE tweeted about a recently purchased web domain name that suggested the series was getting an adaptation. It is not uncommon for web pages to be launched on the same day as the anime adaptation of a new series is announced.
Despite the speculations, fans of I Am In Love With Villainess will be glad that there is finally an official confirmation from the creators.

I Am In Love With Villainess light novel is written by Inori and illustrated by Hanagata. It was serialized online between January 2018 and February 2021 on the user-generated novel publishing website Shōsetsuka ni Narō.
Aichu Publishing later acquired the series and published the first light novel volume digitally in February 2019 under their GL Bunko imprint.
Five volumes of the light novel have been published, with the latest issue released on 26th August 2021.

The story follows Oohashi Rei, an ordinary office worker who died of overwork and is reincarnated in the world of her favourite otome game, Revolution, while assuming the identity of Rae Taylor.
From the beginning, Rae s’ target of affection is the villain of the game, Claire Francois, whose good looks, coupled with blonde, drill-shaped ringlets, are a source of male attraction.
In addition to being the game s’ villain, Claire Francois is also a noble hailing from the influential Francois house in the Bauer Kingdom. From time immemorial, her family has held high positions in the government and has remained in constant battle with rivals Achard house for being the superior power.
Rae is completely obvious to the three princes who offered her as she only has eyes for Claire. In addition to her love interest, Rae also possesses an in-depth knowledge of the game, using which she knows the fate of Claire.
Can Rae become closer to Claire and give her a happy ending before the game ruins her chances is the central plot of the show.
I Am In Love With Villainess anime is directed by Hideaki Oba with series composition and scripting from Ayumu Hisao.
Music is composed by Noriyuki Asakura and Usagi to Uma. Characters are designed by Yoko Sato, with Hajime Takakuwa as the sound director.
Studio Platinum Vision will be responsible for animation production and has worked on projects like Servamp, Love of Kill, Dr. Ramune: Mysterious Disease Specialist, and Kono Oto Tomare! Sounds of Life.
I Am In Love With Villainess characters include Rae Taylor, who will be voiced by Yu Serizawa, and Karin Nanami is cast as the voice of Claire Francois.
