Each year numerous series are released under the fantasy genre, and Winter 2023 was no different as the anime adaption of Hayaken s’ light novel, Reborn to Master the Blade, hit the small screens.
The plot follows the Hero, King Inglis, who is finally approaching death after dedicating his life to the service of his country.
As a reward for his service, Goddess Alistia grants Inglish a wish which Inglish accepts and asks to be reincarnated so he can fulfill his only regret, i.e., mastering the bale.
His wish is granted, and he is reborn in the distant future as the daughter of the noble Eucus family.
Inglis is shocked to know that he is a girl now and still retains his nickname, Chris. He learns that in this new world, magical artifices called runes can be used to fight monsters.
However, Inglis cannot utilize runes and is labeled as tuneless, which eventually costs him to become a knight.
Not lamenting the situation, Inglis squires for her cousin Rafinha Bilford.
Can Inglis get close to his long desire of mastering the blade while facing new challenges in this new world is the central plot of the show?
Reborn to Master the Blade Season One was a relative success as some fans enjoyed the fantasy series while others found it cliched and filled with ecchi tropes.

Production studios consider various financial and commercial metrics before announcing a renewal.

Even if the reviews and ratings get a pass, a crucial factor for renewal will be the availability of studio and source material.
Studio Comet by no means is a big production house and, consequently, has only produced two animes since 2021.
The studio took a hiatus in 2022 and returned with Reborn to Master the Blade in 2023, which clearly indicates a lack of staff and resources.
Furthermore, the ending of season one was a bit different from the light novel, which could again mean that the creators have no intentions of producing a sequel.
Currently, no new projects have been announced by the studio however, it’s unlikely Reborn to Master the Blade season 2 will be one of them.

It began serialization by Hobby Japan under their HG Comics imprint in Comic Fire magazine on December 2019.
The manga has been collected into four volumes, with the latest issue released on 1st November 2022.
Eiyuu-ou, Bu wo Kiwameru Tame Tenseisu: Soshite, Sekai Saikyou no Minarai Kishi light novel is written by Hayaken and illustrated by Nagu.
It was published by Hobby Japan under their HJ Bunko imprint in November 2019.
The light novel has been collected into nine volumes, with the latest issue released on 1st March 2023.
REBORN TO MASTER THE BLADE SEASON 2 PLOT
In the final episode of Reborn to Master the Blade Season One, “Clash! Hero-King vs. King of Rainbows”,
