Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 release date is finally confirmed!
When it comes to mainstream success series, MAPPA studios have been setting the gold standard for more than a decade. Shows like Yuri on Ice, Dorohedoro, Banana Fish, and Attack on Titans have become cult classics within the anime fandom.
The studio from Suginami City, Tokyo, Japan, has a unique way of connecting to its fans, which generates the hype for future adaptions (Chainsaw Man) and sequels even before the studio s’ promotion.
Speaking of sequels, one of the most popular anime in recent times is unsurprisingly from MAPPA s’ creation as well in the form of Jujutsu Kaisen.
The manga series by Gege Akutami was adapted by MAPPA in 2020 and became an immediate success upon its arrival.
The show s’ premise connects the Curse energy, created by the negative emotions that come from human beings’ collective conscious and subconscious. Negative feelings fuel this energy but can manifest themselves into powerful cursed spirits.
These energies are harnessed by sorcerers, aka Shamans, to perform superhuman techniques. These techniques are unique to each character, and everyone’s is different, but the techniques themselves are fuelled by cursed energy, so everyone has to learn how to mold better and control that energy.
The plot follows Yuuji Itadori, a student with extraordinary physical abilities in the cult group who also has the sealed King of Curse “Sukuna” finger.
Yuji’s friends accidentally unseal the object attracting strong curses to their location. Megumi and Yuji try to fight them off but are backed into a corner, and Yuji is forced to eat the cursed object to gain enough power to save everyone.
Sukuna possesses Yuji’s body and beats the curse with one hit; however, Sukuna cannot overpower or even land a hit on the invincible Gojo Satoru.
Moreover, Yuji is the only one capable of holding back Sukuna and is allowed to find the remaining fingers and eliminate them once and for all.
This series has been bubbling for a long time, and its fandom in success was pretty notable from an early stage, and a lot of that has to do with the content and great aesthetic of the manga.

JUJUTSU KAISEN SEASON 2 PLOT

Jujutsu Kaisen season one covered the first eight volumes and 63 chapters from the manga. The second season will cover most of the Shibuya Arc, which is 73 chapters long. It can cover the entire Shibuya Arc if the season is split into two 15-episode cour.
Either way, fans are in for a treat as Shibuya Arc is the series’s longest and most anticipated arc. Before he reveals the details of Shibuya Arc, Here is a fair spoiler warning for anime-only viewers.
[SPOILER WARNING]
The beginning of the Shibuya incident arc occurs in Chapter 83 of the Manga, as the Jujutsu Sorcerers band together for the upcoming attack from the cursed spirits in Shibuya.
The first team group together with Fushiguro, Nanami & Takumi Ino, and the 2nd team we get to see consists of Maki Zenin, Nobara & Noabito Zenin.
They then discuss the curtain put upon Shibuya, to which every sorcerer responds with ‘bring Satoru Gojo’; however, Akari Nitta says for all of them to stay on standby.
Then we are introduced to the 3rd team with Kusakabe & Panda, we then witness a bunch of civilians wanting to get out of the screen placed by the Cursed Spirit, and of course, Gojo effortlessly breaks through the screen and enters, as we also see a lot of civilians gathered at the Shibuya train station.
Gojo casually steps on everyone, and as he ascends, he states, ‘Bring it on, with a smile on his face. Straight after, we see the 4th team consisting of Mei Mei, Ui Ui & Yuji Itadori. Gojo suddenly comes up against Jogo, Hanami & Choso, with Jogo threatening to murder all the civilians there if Gojo runs away.
Suddenly Choso, Hanami & Jogo split up in the crowd and begin their onslaught on the civilians as a distraction against Gojo, Hanami & Jogo attempt to punch Gojo, but they can’t seem to touch him, but Jogo uses this to his advantage and uses his Domain Amplification with Gojo immediately realizing that they are working alongside a Curse User.
Gojo kills Hanami in cold blood and then looks at Jogo to indicate that he is next.
Moving back to the Mei Mei team, which Yuji is a part of, they are then told to relocate to another part of the station, where Yuji witnesses a train cart with countless mutated humans, which he knows is the doing of Mahito, back to Gojo’s battle with Jogo, Geto mentions that they’ll need to work Gojo up a bit more since he is still perfectly fine.
As the mutated humans come out in numbers from the train and kill the civilians, Gojo is shocked that these Cursed Spirits would go to such an extent because killing the humans doesn’t even go to their advantage.
Mahito pops out and attempts to hit Gojo but is mesmerized by Gojo’s infinity in which he can’t lay a finger on him.
With the distraction of the civilians being attacked by Mahito’s mutated humans, Mahito & Choso use this to their advantage, combining Blood Manipulation Supernova and Mahito’s idle transfiguration soul multiplicity to pin Gojo down. At the same time, Jogo comes into the attack, but of course, unfazed, Gojo rips off Jogo’s arm.
