Sci-fi has always been a special genre with regard to anime, as numerous series have been created featuring intergalactic battles and mystery thrillers.
Although the sci-fi genre has been on the backburners recently, Winter 2020 was privy to one such series as an original anime series by studio NAZ, Id Invaded, hitting the small screens.
The premise is set in a world where detectives have the power to delve into a killer s’ subconscious, and fragments see parts of their psyche.
This psychological plane is called the ‘id well’, and it is used by investigators to gather clues about the killer s’ next victim.
While traveling through the id well, the killer s’ thoughts appear as projections that the investigators must analyze in real-time.
Field analysts assist id-well investigators using a tool called “Wakumusubi, “a sort of handheld radar gun that detects and collects delicate “cognition particles” given off by a person’s intent to kill.
The plot follows a former detective Akihito Narihisago, who is known as “Sakaido,” inside the id wells.
Sakaido has been serving jail time after murdering a killer who killed his daughter Muku, and as a result, his wife committed suicide.
He bears a strong grudge against killers, which can manifest into a strong urge to kill.
Despite his chequered past, Sakaido is well respected among the detectives, and he continues to assist the department.
Can the renowned detective prove useful while curbing his urges as he solves a series of murders is the central plot of the show.
Id Invaded Season One was a relative success as fans enjoyed the physiological sci-fi thriller.
After the conclusion of season one, fans are wondering if there will be a second installment or not.

WHAT IS THE ID INVADED SEASON 2 RELEASE DATE?
Id Invaded Season One aired from 5th January 2020 to 22nd March 2020 for 13 episodes.
As of writing, there is no update from studio NAZ on the renewal of Id Invaded Season 2.

As mentioned earlier, Id Invaded Season One was well-received by reviewers and critics.
If not for Darwin s’ Games, Id Invaded would have been the top-rated Sci-fi anime of Winter 2020 slate.
The anime was even nominated for the 52nd Seiun Awards at The 60th Japan Science Fiction Convention.
Nevertheless, the first season was one of the top anime of the Winter 2020 slate, which is further evidenced by its IMDB user episode ratings.

While the reviews and ratings are favorable, a crucial factor will be the availability of studio and source material.
Studio NAZ isn’t one of the big production houses, and with that comes a scarcity of staff capable of working on multiple projects.
Currently, only one new anime, i.e., Special Kid Factory, is scheduled for 2023 release, which will also be the studio s’ first project this year.
But that’s not the most concerning issue, Studio NAZ isn’t known to produce sequels, with not a single past anime receiving a second season.
Hence, this could spell bad news for fans hoping for Id Invaded Season 2.
Furthermore, Id Invaded is an original work, and since Id Invaded No Oto manga is a sequel rather than an adaptation, it could further postpone the chances of Id Invaded Season 2.

ID INVADED NO OTO MANGA CATCHUP
Id Invaded No Oto manga is written by Otaro Maijo and illustrated by Yuki Kodama. It began serialization in Young Ace magazine from 4th October 2019 to 4th November 2020.
The manga has been collected into three volumes, with the latest news issue released on 4th December 2020.

ID INVADED THE SEASON 2 PLOT
In the final episode of Id Invaded Season One, “Channelled II,” Narihisago and Hondomachi planto kill John Walker, however, they find he can’t be killed due to being a constant member of Kiki’s Well.
They choose to lead him into the id Well from the first episode produced using Fukuda’s perceptive particles and stunt Walker into entering a Kura cockpit covertly got by Fukuda before his demise.
This new cockpit moves Walker’s brain to the scene in the past episode just before he ended it all, with Narihisago effectively securing him in that timetable.
With Walker dead in reality and captured in the Well world, he is presently not a danger.
In reality, Momoki arrives at Kiki and offers to save her. Kiki declines, acknowledging she is too huge of a danger to exist beyond the Mizuhanome, particularly since she is starting to impart contemplations and dreams to others across the world.
She consents to reappear the Mizuhanome, with Momoki promising to figure out how to save her. The climate gets back to business as usual after she is contained, and everybody awakens, except for individuals like Fukuda, who passed on in the Well world.
Narihisago and Hondomachi are separated from the Kiki’s Well. An epilogue states Boss Hayaseura’s passing was accounted for as a self-destruction, and each of the occasions encompassing Kiki and the Mizuhanome was concealed by the Kura Division.
